AEE Founded
The National Energy Policy & Conservation Act (1978) defines what an "energy manager" should be. AEE, a nonprofit professional society, is founded by Albert Thumann. In the same year, the US Department of Energy (DOE) and governments grapple with the 1970's Oil Crisis. Presiding President Al Thumann.
1979
AEE creates its first Chapters
AEE creates its first Chapters in Atlanta, Chicago, Houston, Kansas City, Metro Detroit/South Michigan, New England, New Jersey, New York, Washington DC/National Capital Chapter, San Francisco & Southern California. Presiding President Al Thumann.
1979
1st President and Meeting
XYZ was named the 1st presidents for the AEE's Lonestar chapter and held its first meeting at location in Houston.
2000
New Century
The Lonestar Chapter enters the new century under the leadership of XYZ and had expanded to # of members.

About AEE Lonestar Chapter
The AEE Lone Star Chapter (AEE-LSC) is the Houston-area chapter of the international Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) organization.
AEE-LSC has a local membership, which is separate from the broader AEE organization. Chapter memberships run on a calendar year cycle. Chapter members are added AEE-LSC distribution list to receive email messages about chapter meetings and events of interest. Chapter membership dues support the operation of the local chapter and have made it possible for the chapter to contribute scholarships to students who are pursuing education in energy-related fields.
About AEE
The Association of Energy Engineers (AEE), founded in 1977, is a nonprofit professional society of over 17,000 members in 90 countries. The mission of AEE is “To shape the future of the energy industry through networking, energy awareness, education, training, professional certification and recognition.”
AEE offers a full array of informational outreach programs including seminars (live and internet based), conferences, journals, books, and certification programs.
AEE's network of 95 local chapters meets regularly to discuss regional issues. AEE's roster of Corporate Members is a veritable “who's who” from the commercial, industrial, institutional, governmental, energy services, and utility sectors.
The AEE Energy Insight is a high-quality online newsletter that focuses on the accomplishment of the Association and its members. AEE also publishes three technical journals: Energy Engineering and Strategic Planning for Energy & the Environment complimentary to all AEE members, and Cogeneration & Distributed Generation Journal, complimentary to those AEE members who are also members of the Cogeneration & Distributed Generation Institute.
The Foundation of the Association of Energy Engineers is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to furthering education in energy and management. To date, the Foundation has awarded over $600,000 in scholarships for use by outstanding students.
